In collaboration with Morphe Arts, we have adopted a telephone box on North St in St Andrews, Fife, for use as a contemporary art gallery. Morphe Arts is a charity that believes art is an essential part of what it means to be fully human. The box has only one and a half cubic meters of space. It is hoped that this ‘thin’ space will provide a platform for contemporary art, not limited by its dimensions.
We hope to show an exciting programme of work, inviting artists to respond to the space, its location, its size, its nature and its history, making work that explores the intersection of space an practice and responds to the theme of Telos – a Greek word used by Aristotle to mean “final cause of a natural organ or entity or of human art… the supreme end of human endeavour” We are open to ideas regarding the creative use of this space, and welcome proposals that give voice to relevant and meaningful ideas not often shown in mainstream galleries
