We seek to add to the cultural capital of the communities in which we operate.  The socially engaged frameworks are designed to give voice to the voiceless, for those who are not normally heard to find a witness to their story.  Our work has been shown to build bridges, to create spaces for encounter and dialogue, to enlighten minds and warm hearts.  In the spaces held open by this type of contemporary art, in time, pain can be transformed into hope.

Artist CV
I initially studied engineering and economics and pursued a successful career in safety, health and environmental disciplines.  Approaching middle age, I began to search for new depths of meaning and fulfilment and developed a renewed awareness of the connection between nature, creativity and spirituality.  Now in possession of a first-class degree in Fine Art, a Mlitt in Theology Imagination and Arts, and an MA in Art and Social Practice, I have exhibited at the RSA, Edinburgh, GoMA, Glasgow and other local and international venues.

I am an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores our hopes, fears, choices, chances and sense of identity. Inspiration comes from the environment and the people I encounter. My work seeks to inspire others and invites them to step out beyond what they know for certain.

Opportunities to create liminal spaces where for a short time perhaps the unimaginable becomes possible excite me.

I grew up enthusiastic about creativity, art, gardening, sports but also science. I had an experience of the numinous aged twelve, although realised I had developed a faith in something greater than me, God, much earlier. I trained in Medicine and became a Consultant in the NHS.  My husband and I also ran a small livestock farm.

Since retirement, and being widowed, I trained in spiritual accompaniment, and became a Companion of the Northumbria Community, occasionally facilitating retreats. I’m particularly drawn to silence, contemplative prayer, creativity and using the body as a way of exploring our spirituality and life questions.

I am enthusiastic about the vision for Revelation Arts, it touches some of my deepest held values and have always enjoyed being part of a team with a common purpose and hope to bring my experience in setting up a charity and many years as a charity trustee to this venture.

I studied medicine, trained as a GP, and joined a local practice where I spent 25 fulfilling years. Throughout this time, art in all its forms has played a significant role in my life. Whether visiting art galleries, attending concerts or theatre performances, or engaging in creative writing and other artistic endeavours, I’ve found that art offers a fresh perspective on life. It brings joy to what can sometimes be a mundane week, stimulating different parts of the brain and enriching the mind.

For many years, I've been inspired by the ideas, projects, and collaborations that have taken place under the banner of Revelation Arts. I’ve witnessed how various forms of art can serve as powerful outlets for personal expression and community engagement. Through my involvement with this charity, I hope to share my passion for the arts and their therapeutic value. My desire is to help to continue providing opportunities for others to engage their minds in innovative ways, spreading the joy of creative expression to a broader audience.

I’ve always been drawn to teaching and to working with the marginalised and those on the edges. I worked with children with learning difficulties in main stream primary  then retraining as an ESOL teacher working in community classes for refugees, asylum seekers and economic migrants and later in an FE college with refugee adults who had no literacy in their first language. This skill of learning to listen attentively to others speech was a good training ground for when I felt drawn to become a spiritual director in the Ignatian tradition. I now lead retreats in person or online and offer regular accompaniment.

I worked alongside Liz for several years as part of the pastoral team at the Bield at Blackruthven retreat centre and have been inspired and delighted by her creativity and her belief and encouragement in other people’s ability to express themselves through art. My passion has always been for textiles and I’ve found great solace through the hard times of my life through creating something new and beautiful with fabrics. I’m excited to see how Revelation Arts develops and how it will engage people in discovering deeper layers of meaning and new potential in their lives.

I attended Wimbledon College of Art Foundation Course and am a graduate of Canterbury College of Fine Arts.

Processing life and the insight this brings is an essential part of my painting practice.  I am embodied and present as I allow the work to emerge.  I also enjoy drawing dancers, making work about movement, energy, aliveness and emotion.

I have been a member of Transept since 2019, a group or artists and art enthusiasts, set up by students from the Institute of Theology, Imagination and the Arts at St Andrews University to discuss and encourage art in a spiritual context.

I enjoy participating in art that is accessible to all and working collaboratively.  I feel there are amazing possibilities when we tap into group energy.  My experience of Revelation Arts has been joyful, spaces have been interesting and playful which allows for deep and transformational conversations.  I am grateful to be part of it.
